About Me

- Name: Chairborne Stranger
- Location: Somewhere, Very Dusty, Iraq
I am an American soldier, deployed to Iraq in service of my country.---------------------------------I enjoy long, hot, dusty days, cleaning my weapon, sweating to the sound of automatic gunfire, and the mournful sound of prayers during the A.M. waking me up out of a comfortable sleep. One day soon (well, a year from now) I hope to leave this forsaken land and go where there are actually trees, water, and mountains.----------------------------------------- It's the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. It's the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It's the Soldier, not the politicians that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. It's the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.------------"Political power comes out of the barrel of a gun." Mao----------------------Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22 and let out a respectful whistle. ‘"That’s some catch, that Catch-22," he observed. ‘"It’s the best there is," Doc Daneeka agreed (p. 46).---------------"Never take counsel of your fears." Patton
